What it was
Investment Hub was a team project from 2020. Six of us had just finished our BSc at Middlesex University Dubai, and we planned an app to help people in Nigeria invest safely with as little as $100.
The problem
The team surveyed people about investing. They described losing money to Ponzi schemes and forex companies, and earning little interest from banks. The proposal also notes that many people believe they need a large sum before they can start.
The idea
The app would list investment companies in areas such as farming, transport and real estate, check them before listing them, and show their figures visually so the decision is easier. Stocks, forex and cryptocurrency were left out to keep the risk down. Brokers could join to help investors choose.
My part
I was the designer. I designed the app and its high-fidelity prototype in Adobe XD. The home screen lets you search and switch between recommendations, top returns and categories. Each company shows its return, its minimum investment and how many people have invested, and opens to a page where you choose an amount.
Toyosi Obayemi wrote the proposal, which covers the business model, competitors and a budget.
