The client
Gentle Hands Care Agency provides home care and supported living in north London and the neighbouring counties, under the line "Putting People First". I worked with them as a freelance designer from February to August 2023, on their logo and their brochure.
The logo
I sketched several arrangements of handprints before going digital: overlapping hands, hands forming a heart, and hands around a symbol of care. A circle of hands won, because it felt the most balanced.
Each handprint is a different colour, for the range of people the agency serves, inside a grey frame that lets the colours stand out. The name is set in Josefin Sans SemiBold with the tagline beneath it. I delivered vertical, horizontal and icon versions.
The brochure
A twelve-page brochure that introduces the agency to families and to the councils it works with. It covers the agency's mission and values, its services, a message from the director, and how to make a complaint or give a compliment.
The PDF below shows a sample of its pages. I have left out the pages with photographs of the people the agency cares for.
